Iri railway station bombing
"It is highly unlikely that the most advanced air force in the world would make such a big mistake as Su Won is 60 miles from Iri. A large number of civilians waving hands and flags could hardly be mistaken as a gesture by the enemy."
- Kim Dae Gyu, the president of the Survivor’s Committee, who lost a father in the bombing
In July of 1950, approximately 300 civilians were killed in the Iri railway station due to air bombing. Iri train station and nearby public square were crowded with people who had come for the big cattle market day. According to U.S Air Force records, the U.S airplanes were supposed to hit Su Won, 60 miles north of Iri.
